A while back, we had a clients Virtual server go down after they installed a printer driver from one of those "driver sites". In these days of google, I am surprised such sites have survived, but many of them are actually useful (tom's hardware or windows updates are good starts, also driverguide.com (but be careful who posted it!!!)
To make a long story short, it gave hime a virus we had the hardest time getting rid off, but we where able to elimnate it using the windows malicious software tool !!! What a shock! other great tools are sysinternals, and of course, our presonal favorite symantec, trend data and AVG. (see our tools link.....)
